Covid-19 and after?…
The G20 will throw five trillion dollars into the capitalist abyss and this will not even be enough to reduce the widening of the abyss as the latter grows at a faster rate than the number of deaths from the pandemic! No politician, no economist, no predictor dares to say that there is a chance of survival and economic recovery. They are content to assert that all means must be used, without limit, to "help the economy" and, if these colossal sums reach the hands of (...)

The Right of Self-Determination and the Negro in the United States of North Americas
(July 1939)
Source: SWP New York Convention Resolutions, 11 July 1939. Proofreading: Einde O’Callaghan (March 2016).
In 1930 Negroes in America constituted nearly twelve million, or 10 percent of the American population. Of these, two-thirds were still in the South, despite the war and postwar emigration to the North. In the cities of the North and East, the Negroes form only a small (...) -
A Critique of The German Ideology
6 September 2019, by Robert ParisA Critique of The German Ideology
Preface
Hitherto men have constantly made up for themselves false conceptions about themselves, about what they are and what they ought to be. They have arranged their relationships according to their ideas of God, of normal man, etc. The phantoms of their brains have got out of their hands. They, the creators, have bowed down before their creations. Let us liberate them from the chimeras, the ideas, dogmas, imaginary beings under the yoke of which (...) -
Capitalism – A System of Constant War
7 October 2013, by Robert ParisCapitalism – A System of Constant War
We live in a world ravaged by endless war. The estimated death toll from wars in the 20th century was around 187 million, not to mention the millions of people whose lives were ruined in the aftermath of these wars. The wars of the past century and of today cannot simply be explained away as the wrong decisions by bad governments. We live under an economic system – capitalism – that relies on war in order to exist. Under capitalism, war, devastation, (...) -

Being a Woman – A Daily Struggle
5 March 2014, by Robert ParisBeing a Woman – A Daily Struggle
March is Women’s History Month, a month to acknowledge the contributions and struggles women have made in history. But despite the gains women have achieved, they still remain underpaid at work, unequally burdened with childcare and housework, and face abuse on a daily basis. The struggle of being a woman is far from over and in some cases it is going backwards.
Being a woman means doing it all. Women are day care workers, housekeepers, cooks, janitors, (...) -

Working class struggles in China
27 February 2012, by Robert ParisWorking class struggles in China
Working class struggle is an important part of modern Chinese history, and is rising.
In a late industrialising country, the Chinese working class emerged and became organised only in the early 20th century after the country was forced to open up to global capitalism.
However, shaped by harsh economic exploitation and foreign semi-colonial domination, China’s working class quickly established itself in the space of a few decades. This culminated in (...)
